Prix Tourbillon (Conditions race) | 1m2½f | 3yo colts & geldings | SSR

Two of French racing's superpowers in Andre Fabre and Jean-Claude Rouget field unbeaten colts in a race that may well throw up a stakes performer or two for the future.

Rouget's runners at Longchamp on Monday looked a little rusty but Port Guillaume might not fall into the same category, having run twice at Cagnes-sur-Mer earlier in the year.

He enjoyed a golden run up the rail to win the second of those starts, but appeared to have any amount in hand by the line.

Mare Australis has come to Fabre off the back of a single success at two over a mile when trained in Germany by Jean-Pierre Carvalho, alongside other Von Ullman family-bred horses such as Alson.

There is a further German connection courtesy of Intello Dawn, who is trained by Andreas Schutz, now based in Chantilly after a spell in Hong Kong.

Intello Dawn looked good in landing his only start last backend, as did the Aga Khan's Enzel.

Alfareeq broke his maiden in good style at the second time of asking and trainer Freddy Head will be keen to put a couple of underwhelming performances from stable runners at Longchamp on Monday behind him.

What the connections say

Andreas Schutz, trainer of Intello Dawn
He is quite a big individual and it was not until quite late last season that the penny began to drop in his work and that gave me confidence to have a run. He won impressively and since then he hasn't missed a beat. He's been training well and is an impressive-looking horse. I only have a small stable these days and he looks like the best I have at the moment. Paris missed the rain on Monday so the ground won't be too soft for him.

Mikel Delzangles, trainer of Enzel
He needs to back up his easy debut win, which was on really deep ground. He has a lot of stamina and I see his future over further. Unless we get more rain I think it will be tough for him over 2,100 metres [1m2½f]

Stephane Wattel, trainer of Baratin
He has the best rating of those more experienced horses in the race but unusually, there are a lot of runners in there that have won just one race and I think it's a very good field. Obviously everyone wants to run their horses at the first available opportunity. Baratin has come on for his comeback run but his real preference is for very heavy ground and it won't be nearly that at Saint-Cloud.

Myriam Bollack-Badel, trainer of Green Spirit
I think he will probably need the run. He is a horse that you can't be too hard with in the mornings and last year he improved with racing. It's a decent field and he really wants it heavy, which won't be the case on the first day back at Saint-Cloud. He looks very well but I couldn't get going too early with him because he's not a horse for the all-weather.
