In-form Williams and long-distance Lidster - the stats to help your Friday punts

Venetia Williams and Daniel Muscutt could be worth following on Friday
Venetia Williams and Daniel Muscutt could be worth following on Friday

There are four cards on Friday as Kempton, Ludlow, Dundalk and Southwell host some competitive racing. Here are four statistics that could help your punting. . .

Kempton

Craig Lidster has just one runner at Kempton on Friday and that horse, Tollerton Forest (12.45), will make a 446-mile round trip in a bid to win races on consecutive days.

She was off the mark at Wolverhampton on Thursday, obliging as the 4-9 favourite in a classified race. Although entitled to win that, she is back in handicap company off the same mark as when placed at Southwell in late December.

She will need to improve on what she achieved at Wolverhampton, but an in-form filly can be very tricky to beat, as her skinny odds suggest.

Ludlow

Venetia Williams is the woman to follow at Ludlow this season, winning with four of her ten runners, and she has four excellent chances again on Friday.

Fire Dancer (2.00) was a dual winner in France for a top yard and makes his debut in the famous Ricci colours as a totally unexposed chaser.

We have not seen Didero Vallis (3.00) since his unseat in the Becher Chase last month but prior to that, he was third at Exeter off a 4lb higher mark. He is very well handicapped and if on song, he will be a tough horse to keep out of the frame.

Williams also runs Franco d'Aunou (3.30), who has finished second on both his starts this season, and Belle Saint (4.00), who makes her debut in the concluding bumper.

Dundalk

Joseph O'Brien recorded a double at Dundalk on Wednesday and is solely represented by Anann (6.30) in the 7f maiden.

She was beaten a long way on her course-and-distance debut in November but showed the benefit of experience when beaten a neck over 6f in November.

A slow break cost her that day and returning to 7f should not be an issue, making her the one to beat for the in-form operator, who has won with seven of his last 22 runners.

Southwell

Daniel Muscutt loves Southwell, as proven by his 25 per cent strike-rate at the venue in the last five years. His 32 winners equate to a £49.57 level stakes profit and Rebel Angel (6.15) provides his biggest Friday chance.

She was second to a 66-rated rival at Chelmsford in a claiming race in December and she now finds herself in a weak-looking claimer off a lowly rating.

Muscutt also has a pair of rides at double-digit odds. Annie Law (7.45) is yet to achieve much in two runs but is in good hands, while Breezyandbright (8.15) was placed at Chelmsford in November off 6lb higher and was unlucky at Wolverhampton last time.
