Faugheen: Legal A-Team in action as Second Punter makes surprise appearance

The subterranean hearing room at BHA headquarters in London has played host to many celebrated legal minds over the years but perhaps never has quite such a group gathered here as the one present on Monday morning to argue the latest major case to be prosecuted by racing's intrepid regulator.

The BHA is represented once again by Philip Evans QC, who unsuccessfully led the prosecution against Hughie Morrison in the curious (and still unsolved!) case of the mystery steroid injection, while the accused, Tim Brennan, Willie Mullins' veterinary surgeon who is charged with passing inside information about the wellbeing of Faugheen to his brother, has assembled a veritable legal A-Team for the two-day hearing.

His four representatives are spearheaded by Edward Fitzgerald QC, one of the most highly regarded barristers in England and a veteran of countless courtroom dust-ups.
