Hexham hopefuls: three runners to keep onside this evening
Staying power and the ability to handle heavy ground will be the key attributes for the evening's sole meeting at Hexham. The seven-race card starts at 4.10 and is available to watch on At The Races, and here we pick out three horses it could pay to follow . . .

The hurdling debutant was strong in the early-morning markets and looks capable of getting off the mark over jumps at the first attempt. The Jedd O'Keeffe-trained grey, a three-time winner on the Flat, has been disappointing this campaign but should be firmly involved if transferring his ability to this new discipline.

Transferred to Ben Haslam by JP McManus having failed to score in five starts for Paul Nicholls, the five-year-old takes a big drop in class on his first outing for 187 days. Providing he is fit enough on his debut for his new trainer, he should be good enough to beat his rivals comfortably.
My IdeaMaurice Barnes has hit the target with two of his last three runners and the 11-year-old can keep the trainer's purple patch going. Up 3lb for a recent course-and-distance success, the hardy chaser has stacks of form at the track and, crucially, acts on testing ground.
