Henderson: Buveur D'Air has the same slickness as See You Then and Istabraq
Nicky Henderson is relishing the challenge of ensuring Buveur D'Air gets the opportunity to join the fantastic five of three-time Champion Hurdle winners after comparing his brilliant BetVictor Fighting Fifth Hurdle winner with two members of the club in See You Then and Istabraq.
The seven-year-old cruised up besides Irish challenger and favourite Samcro before quickening clear with a stunning amount of ease, a performance that saw him handed a career best Racing Post Rating.
Speaking on Sunday, Henderson confirmed his dual Champion Hurdle winner had come out of his Newcastle exertions well. He said: "I thought he was excellent, you couldn’t say anything else.
