'He never gets enough credit' - Politologue still underrated says owner Hales
Politologue's owner John Hales believes his Champion Chase winner is still seriously underestimated as the grey prepares to bid for a Grade 1 hat-trick in the Clarence House Chase at Ascot on Saturday.
After winning his last two starts by a combined 16 and a half lengths, Politologue goes to Ascot in search of a fifth victory at the top level on his final start before returning to Cheltenham to defend his Betway Queen Mother Champion Chase crown.
In December, the Paul Nicholls-trained ten-year-old was an imperious winner of the Tingle Creek Chase, his second success in Sandown's prized two-mile Grade 1 and he is now officially rated a career-high 169, level with dual Champion Chase winner Altior.
