France Galop to contact disgruntled visiting Arc fans in quest to win back trust

France Galop will send a customer satisfaction survey to every British and Irish racegoer who bought a ticket online for last Sunday's Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, as officials seek to learn lessons from an occasion marked by long queues for many who wanted to bet, eat, drink or visit the toilet.

After taking several days to gather information from teams on the ground at the newly rebuilt Longchamp, France Galop director general Olivier Delloye gave an initial assessment of the event from a sporting, commercial and spectator point of view.

Delloye acknowledged facilities for many racegoers were insufficient, while director of marketing and communication Fabrice Favetto Bon said organisers would seek to "better understand what happened and then study how we can encourage people to come back next year".
