Order Of St George and Wicklow set for Irish St Leger rematch

Order Of St George will bid to gain revenge on Wicklow Brave when the pair clash again in Sunday's Group 1 Comer Group International Irish St Leger at the Curragh.

Aidan O'Brien's stayer finished second to the dual-purpose performer, trained by Willie Mullins, in last year's race and the two featured among ten declarations for this year's contest on Friday morning.

The Queen's Dartmouth was also declared for one of the three Group 1s on the second day of Longines Irish Champions Weekend, as were fellow British raiders Western Hymn, Lord Yeats and Mount Moriah.

The Jessica Harrington-trained Torcedor will be among the remainder carrying Irish hopes, along with Benkei, The Tartan Spartan and Twilight Payment.

Order Of St George is an odds-on chance and his stablemate Gustav Klimt is a similarly short order to land the Group 1 Goffs Vincent O'Brien National Stakes earlier in the afternoon.

A general 7-1 shot for the 2,000 Guineas, Superlative Stakes winner Gustav Klimt is the 2-5 favourite with Paddy Power for the 7f contest, for which he was one of eight declared.

The Gordon Elliott-trained Beckford, second behind Gustav Klimt's stablemate Sioux Nation in the Group 1 Phoenix Stakes at the same venue last time, also stood his ground.

In the Group 1 Moyglare Stud Stakes, O'Brien is set to send out half of the ten-runner field, with the Qipco 1,000 Guineas favourite Clemmie, a sister to Churchill, leading the way.

Magical caused something of a surprise when defeating stablemates Happily and September in the Debutante Stakes last time and the three will face off again, with Ballet Shoes completing the O'Brien five.

The Albany Stakes second Alpha Centauri will be among those bidding to derail the O'Brien show, along with Dermot Weld's Chiara Luna, a winner of a Leopardstown maiden on her debut last month.
