It is the turn of the fillies at Newmarket on Wednesday as the Lanwades Stud Nell Gwyn Stakes provides the highlight of the Craven meeting's second day.

The 1,000 Guineas trial features Lowther Stakes winner Threading on a card where the Group 3 bet365 Earl Of Sefton Stakes and European Free Handicap jostle for attention.

The prize-money is as attractive at Cheltenham, also graced by the ITV4 cameras, where the promise of genuine spring ground has helped attract big fields.

Poetic Rhythm, winner of Newbury's Grade 1 Challow Hurdle but disappointing at the Cheltenham Festival, features in the Citipost Novices' Hurdle while the Grade 2 Barchester Healthcare Silver Trophy Chase has attracted Ryanair Chase fifth Frodon.

Unlike Cue Card the BHA have not been covering themselves in glory after getting themselves into something of a pickle over jump racing's six-day break.

What to watch

You can't miss this Cue Card tribute:

And looking forward to the rest of the spring and summer, here's Richard Fahey's thoughts on Sands Of Mali and others to excite him in his yard this season:

The best of Racing Post Sport

We assess whether Manchester United can bounce back to winning ways at Bournemouth.

While we find one to threaten Alejandro Valverde in cycling's La Fleche Wallonne.

Final thought
