Some stories seemingly never go away. British racing's stable staff shortage is one of them.
Those who labour at the sport's coalface are the bedrock of the industry. Their names are not as familiar to us as those of the top jockeys, trainers, owners and breeders, but the work they do looking after and riding racehorses is invaluable. The problem is there is not enough of them doing it.
The situation is not good and there are clear reasons why. There are also reasons to hope things might be on the cusp of improving.
