For 30 years now the Racing Post and SIS have celebrated the achievements of betting shop managers and later this month we will crown this year’s Betting Shop Manager of the Year.

Although the format of the competition has changed during that time, its raison d’etre has not – namely to find the outstanding manager in Britain and Ireland.

Brough Scott, the chairman of the eight-strong judging panel, said: “This is the 30th running of the competition at a time when the shop’s role in the high street is under more pressure than ever before.
