Our expert tipster is on the hunt for regular Group 1 performers

The key to winning this competition is regular Group 1 success from your team of ten.

Battleground isn’t flashy, but his wins at Royal Ascot and Glorious Goodwood pointed strongly towards Group 1 victories at three.

Physically, the Aidan O’Brien-trained son of War Front has always looked the type to do better in 2021, and ought to develop into a leading candidate for the major mile races.

Chindit is a thoroughly likeable colt who has already proved he has trained on from two to three. He’s never impressive, but gets the job done.

High Definition is reported to have done well over the winter. It was impossible not to be highly taken with his success in the Group 2 Beresford Stakes at the Curragh last September when he produced an explosive finish to run down Monaasib over a mile on only his second start. The sky looks the limit.

The Galileo colt will undoubtedly improve considerably once stepped up to middle distances and, at this stage, I can’t think of a more likely winner of the Cazoo Derby.

Love didn’t get to Longchamp for the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe last autumn, but presumably all roads will lead to France’s biggest race this season.

She was imperious at Newmarket, Epsom and York in 2020, and will be tough to beat in any Group 1 she graces.

The four-year-old Palace Pier remains lightly raced, and reminded everyone of his considerable talents with an eight-length win at Sandown last Friday. He’s a banker for any list.

Santa Barbara looks to have the right combination of speed and stamina to prove equally effective between a mile and a mile and a half. She’s a most exciting prospect.

Stradivarius picks himself as the dominant stayer, while Supremacy has the Commonwealth Cup written all over him. I can’t wait to see him again.

Thunder Moon is better than he showed in the Dewhurst, and it wouldn’t be the biggest surprise if he dropped to sprinting to win the July Cup.

Waldkonig has clearly strengthened over the winter and will continue to progress throughout the season.
