John Gosden: ten years from now the racing landscape will be hugely different

The champion trainer tells Lee Mottershead about Ascot, Enable and the future

It is hard to imagine anyone in racing better able to bring clarity to confusion than John Gosden, yet even Britain's pre-eminent Flat trainer is finding this all so surreal.

Continuing as normal on Newmarket Heath while most of Britain was in shutdown felt surreal, as did watching the Guineas from a socially distanced grandstand occupied by a small handful of professionals. Next up in the surreal stakes will be a Royal Ascot minus the pomp, pageantry and people that provide its unique identity. All those will be missing. Gosden will not.

Indeed, the sport's most iconic fixture has been on the reigning champion trainer's mind this sunny midweek morning.
