Jim Delahunt of the Scottish Sun has won the Racing Post Naps competition for the jumps season and the £4,000 prize that goes with it, but he was forced to wait until the last race of the last day.

Delahunt finished with a level-stakes profit of £53.92, after his selection on the final day, Acclaim The Nation, was a non-runner at Beverley.

Of those that could realistically challenge, Lawrence Taylor (Attheraces.com) and The Score (Racing UK) both fell by the wayside with their selections at Punchestown, but Secret Art won in the nightcap at 9-2 for Moorestyle (Daily Star Sunday).

Unfortunately for Moorestyle, the nom de plume of five-time winner Paul Jacobs, he needed an SP of 10-1 or greater. His last-gasp winner was still enough for second in the table and £1,500.

Jacobs said earlier on Thursday: "I think of the five naps competitions I have won my current total would have been good enough to win three of them, so this has been a really high-class competition, possibly the best ever in terms of strength in depth.

"Congratulations to Jim, a truly awesome display of tipping which takes lots of dedication and hard work to dissect races every day."
