Bowe: six-week point-to-point shutdown would spell 'serious financial trouble'

Leading point-to-point trainer Colin Bowe, the man responsible for unearthing Samcro and Envoi Allen, believes a six-week suspension of the point-to-point season or longer could spell serious financial trouble for a lot of operators within the sport.

The decision to suspend the point-to-point season in Ireland was made by the Irish National Hunt Steeplechase Committee (INHSC) on Wednesday following government advice.

With 25 winners under his belt already this season, Bowe is the undisputed top dog among point-to-point trainers, but he said the latest shutdown could jeopardise his chances of selling most of his stock.
