A year on from depriving Enable of a third win in the Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe with Waldgeist, Andre Fabre confirmed on Friday that Persian King will make his own bid for racing immortality in Europe's premier all-aged prize a week on Sunday.

A brilliant winner of the Prix du Moulin over a mile at Longchamp this month, the son of Kingman is currently trading at prices ranging from 20-1 to 33-1 for the Arc and will take a step into the unknown in terms of trip, having only once previously tackled even as far as a mile and a quarter.

"He will run in the Arc," confirmed Fabre. "In terms of the distance, it is not so much a matter of whether he relaxes and more of genes whether he will get a mile and a half. There is some indication on the dam's side which encourages us. He will be my only runner."
