James Doyle will miss the ride aboard Solario Stakes (2.40) favourite Silver Knott at Sandown on Saturday following a fall at Salisbury on Friday evening.

Doyle was unseated when Fox Vardy lost his action in the 1m6f handicap and will be replaced by Pat Dobbs aboard the Godolphin juvenile.

The colt is the general 7-4 favourite after building on a promising debut to win at Kempton last time, with The Queen's Desert Hero next in the market at 2-1.

In the last ten years the race has been won by subsequent Group 1 winners Kingman (2013), Masar (2017) and Too Darn Hot (2018).

Doyle was also set to ride the favourite Grande Dame in the opening Group 3 Atalanta Stakes (2.05). The filly will now be ridden by Rab Havlin.

The superbly bred debutante Catch A Star (4.25) will now be ridden by 3lb claimer Rhiain Ingram.

Doyle had been booked to ride Persian Force in the Darley Prix Morny at Deauville on Sunday following Rossa Ryan's split with Amo Racing, but he has now been replaced by Frankie Dettori.

A Yorkshireman's Ebor? Punters latch on to Haggas runner in feature handicap

William Haggas has enjoyed two winners at the Ebor festival, including the majestic Baaeed, and punters are warming to the idea of him snaring the £500,000 feature (3.35) this afternoon.

The Yorkshireman has two leading chances in the Sky Bet-sponsored 1m6f handicap, with his bigger-priced runner attracting support.

Candleford has been trimmed into 10-1 (from 12) this morning to replicate his dominant Royal Ascot success in the Duke of Edinburgh Stakes on his penultimate start.

Tom Marquand is in the saddle and presumably he would have had the choice between the son of Kingman and 8-1 chance Gaassee, who will be ridden by Kieran Shoemark. He is also strong in the market.

Marquand partnered Quickthorn to a relentless success in Friday's Group 2 Lonsdale Cup and won the 7f nursery on Kyeema for Haggas on Thursday.

Support also continues to come for Alfred Boucher, who won Wednesday's 2m½f handicap at the track with consummate ease. He received a 4lb penalty for that win, which put him in the mix for this.

Alfred Boucher is as short as 15-2 with William Hill having been as big as 14-1 last night and even bigger earlier in the week.

The six-year-old has taken his form to a new level for Ian Williams this season, recording form figures of 221, and travelled strongly on his way to success this week.

A field of 20 is set to go to post for the Ebor, as outsiders Quenelle D'Or and Calling The Wind have been scratched due to the going.

Going update

The going is good to firm, good in places on the final day of the four-day meeting.

The track was watered 2-3mm on Friday evening and the running rail has been dolled out six metres in order to provide fresh ground.

The forecast is for today to be dry with sunny spells, with temperatures around 22C.
