3.35 Ayr Sunday: Coral Scottish Grand National racecard and betting
1. Lake View Lad
Aintree win in December. Did not shine on next two starts. Wind op before fall last week.
Trainer: Nick Alexander
Jockey: Theo Gillard (5)
Odds: 40-1
2. Aye Right
Career-best form with five places from five chase starts this season. Unraced beyond 3m2f.
Trainer: Harriet Graham
Jockey: Callum Bewley
Odds: 8-1
4. Sam's Adventure
Unseated on penultimate start. Won either side, latterly in the 4m1f Eider at Newcastle.
Trainer: Brian Ellison
Jockey: Henry Brooke
Odds: 20-1
5. Notachance
Won the Classic Chase at Warwick (3m5f, soft) before pulled up (lame) in Haydock National Trial.
Trainer: Alan King
Jockey: Tom Cannon
Odds: 12-1
6. Dingo Dollar
Made most and stretched ten lengths clear at Newcastle on debut for this yard. Unraced beyond 3m2f.
Trainer: Sandy Thomson
Jockey: Brian Hughes
Odds: 9-1
7. Mighty Thunder
Won Edinburgh National by 20 lengths. Lost out only in the final strides in the Midlands National.
Trainer: Lucinda Russell
Jockey: Tom Scudamore
Odds: 7-1
8. Soldier Of Love
Did well on good last summer/autumn. Off 154 days, will stay beyond 3m2f. Considered.
Trainer: Paul Nicholls
Jockey: Sean Bowen
Odds: 8-1
9. Oldgrangewood
Big majority of career and peak efforts were at about 2m4f. Has run respectably at 3m1f.
Trainer: Dan Skelton
Jockey: Harry Skelton
Odds: 28-1
10. The Dutchman
Pipped at Haydock in December. Jumping has cost him, wind op since latest outing.
Trainer: Tristan Davidson
Jockey: Harry Reed
Odds: 40-1
11. Some Chaos
Unraced beyond 3m2f but stays that trip very well. Best efforts are all on good ground.
Trainer: Michael Scudamore
Jockey: Ben Poste
Odds: 33-1
12. The Hollow Ginge
Staying-on fourth in top Newbury handicap (3m2f) in November his only completion this term.
Trainer: Nigel Twiston-Davies
Jockey: Sam Twiston-Davies
Odds: 25-1
13. Big River
Lack of fluency can hold him back. Was 17-length fifth in this in 2019, shaping as if he stayed.
Trainer: Lucinda Russell
Jockey: Derek Fox
Odds: 28-1
14. Claud And Goldie
Second to Some Chaos at Kelso (3m2f, good) and career-best form when winning there (2m7f).
Trainer: Sandy Forster
Jockey: Richie McLernon
Odds: 33-1
15. Coup De Pinceau
Up 6lb following 12-length win at 3m4f. Jumping is not foot-perfect but 4m now seems plausible.
Trainer: Nick Mitchell
Jockey: Angus Cheleda (7)
Odds: 14-1
16. Chapel Stile
Back chasing to win seven-runner at Carlisle (3m, heavy, up 6lb today) in good style.
Trainer: Nicky Richards
Jockey: Ryan Day
Odds: 20-1
17. The Ferry Master
Could have more to offer, particularly on good, but going beyond 3m is a step in the dark.
Trainer: Sandy Thomson
Jockey: Sean Quinlan
Odds: 18-1
18. Enqarde
Cracked late on (disputed the lead two out) over 3m4f in the National Trial at Haydock.
Trainer: Dr Richard Newland
Jockey: Charlie Hammond
Odds: 14-1
19. Cool Mix
In mostly very good form this season, mostly at about 2m4f but also when upped to 2m7f.
Trainer: Iain Jardine
Jockey: Conor O'Farrell
Odds: 28-1
20. Mister Fogpatches
Unraced beyond 2m5f in this sphere but showed he stays 3m/3m1f well as a hurdler.
Trainer: Pat Fahy
Jockey: Danny Mullins
Odds: 13-2
21. Chidswell
Unproven beyond 3m2f but well worth another go and he needs a second look.
Trainer: Nicky Richards
Jockey: Danny McMenamin
Odds: 40-1
22. Chef D'Oeuvre
Led final stride in five-runner Haydock race (3m4f, good to soft) last month. Interesting.
Trainer: Sam England
Jockey: Jonathan England
Odds: 12-1
23. Dino Boy
Stays 4m. Is 8lb out of the handicap but he's a lightly raced eight-year-old so could still do better.
Trainer: Iain Jardine
Jockey: Craig Nichol
Odds: 40-1
The Verdict
Chapel Stile is interesting, but Chef D'Oeuvre (nap) has done more to suggest depths of stamina. Mighty Thunder is solid.
