The Punt Acca: Liam Headd's three horse racing tips for Cheltenham on Saturday

Three horses to add to a treble on Saturday . . .

Scriptwriter (11.40 Cheltenham)

Scriptwriter is Britain's leading hope for the Triumph Hurdle in March and he can do his claims no harm by landing this trial for Milton Harris. Since switching spheres and joining the Wiltshire-based trainer, the four-year-old has won all three of his starts, including one on the all-weather at Wolverhampton last time out. Before that, he took to hurdles really well and beat seven rivals when landing a Grade 2 at this track in November. Harris is priming the son of Churchill for the festival. He'll be hard to stop.

Stage Star (12.10 Cheltenham)

Paul Nicholls appears to be getting the very best out of his seven-year-old over fences. He delivered a career-best performance when winning by 13 lengths at Warwick on his chasing debut, recording a Racing Post Rating of 149 in the process. He was a beaten favourite at Newbury in a Grade 2, but put that run behind him when making all against one other rival earlier this month. His jumping was slick that day and there's still plenty of improvement to come.

Fugitif (1.50 Cheltenham)

Richard Hobson had the option of entering Fugitif into the Clarence House, but he's gone for the valuable handicap on the card instead. The trainer holds the eight-year-old in high regard and believes he's nowhere near the finished article. He ran with credit at Cheltenham in November when finishing second to Amarillo Sky, who went on to win easily at Newbury next time out and does run in the Clarence House. Fugitif, however, had no issues when successfully stepping up in trip to 2m3½f at Chepstow over the festive period and with conditions suiting him here, he has every chance of winning again.
