Shadow can cast spell at Sheffield

TODAY’S card at Sheffield is not as starry as last week’s Steel City Cup offering, but Annadown Shadow was not far away from making that big-race decider and turned on the style on the supporting card.
Sean Parker’s dog put a rapid 28.68sec on the board over the 500m trip then, dealing nicely with trap four thanks to a quick start, and can repeat the dose when he goes at 4.41, live on PGR.
Betgoodwin Tutts was well on the way to opening his six-bend account in a void race at the meeting and can do it at the second time of asking at 3.26.
Diane Henry’s dog was slow to go but was on the case by the third bend when the hare failed and there is no reason he should not beat the opposition for real this time over the 660m trip.
Bockos Waka Waka barely gets the 480m trip, but being attacked by a rival off the last on the same card did not help matters.
Pothole Bob capitalised to reel in Kevin Boon’s dog, but an easier lead looks on the cards at 5.18 today and he can see off all-comers this time.
Alright Tallent showed up well in the Oaks at Dunstall Park before a traffic nightmare saw her a non-arrival for last week’s semis.
Dave Lewis’s bitch reappears at Towcester at 3.51 in one of the track’s six opens and can regain the winning thread.
She will have to be at her best to cope with Jazzy Dancer, an impressive scorer over the 500m trip for Kevin Hutton last week, but is fancied to get decisive first run.
Lewis could also strike with Alright Arthur, who was outgunned over course and distance last week by the speedy Forgottotellya but has less to do at 4.47.
He has a decent draw to work from out wide and should avoid possible bother among the railers.
