Beyonce hits the right note

STOUKE BEYONCE, trained by local handler Maxine Locke, won Romford’s feature Friday Night Maiden Stayers final.
The winner struck for the first time on what was her seventh start for the kennel when making all over the 575m course in a fast 34.86sec (+20) as she accounted for Paul Young’s odds-on favourite Underground Fizz by two and three-quarter lengths in the £500 decider.
Earlier on the card Ted On Fire, who suffered a rough ride in the Guys & Dolls final on his last start, made a winning return to the London Road circuit for John Mullins.
The Yarmouth raider took his Romford record to six wins from nine starts when making all in the second heat of the Friday Night Standard, just shading Katie O’Flaherty’s Carmelfromcanew by a short head in 23.94sec (+10) for the 400m trip.
There was a tight finish to the opening heat as well when Young’s Empress Stakes finalist Yahoo Mareike struck late to lead home a kennel clean-sweep of the places as she beat Funky Ryan and Bombay Buck by a head and a neck in 24.07sec (+10).
At Dunstall Park Brian Thompson’s Oaks semi-finalist Paradise Sky was the star of the show over the 480m trip as she ran riot to score by more than eight lengths in 28.09sec (normal), while her fellow Monmore raider Sugar Candice impressed for Kim Billingham-Hine in a 660m one-off when making all in 40.02sec.
Trap draw
