Establishing a sire is an arduous task at the best of times, never mind amid a global pandemic.
There are a lot of hoops to jump through usually, but now racing’s hiatus is preventing younger stallions' credentials from being fully assessed.
Those sires whose first crop of runners were likely to improve from two to three could be hit hard, as breeders might opt for those already proven with their 2019 juveniles.
