Great Pretender and Nirvana Du Berlais headline Haras de la Hetraie's roster for 2026

Haras de la Hetraie has announced fees for its 2026 roster with stalwart Great Pretender and the exciting Nirvana Du Berlais to stand for €10,000 and €7,500 respectively.
Great Pretender will stand what is likely to be his final covering season at the age of 27, having been responsible for a host of top-notch performers including Lossiemouth, Benie Des Dieux, Greaneteen and Ptit Zig. He was available at €8,000 this year.
Nirvana Du Berlais, meanwhile, was the most popular stallion in France in 2025 and recorded two Grade 1 winners from his first crop of four-year-olds courtesy of Lulamba and Leader Sport. His fee has been raised from €6,500 this year.
The established Bathyrhon will remain at €6,000 and he ranks among the top ten active stallions in France.
Feed The Flame and Mare Australis have their fees clipped to €4,000 (from €4,500) for their second and fourth covering seasons. The first yearlings by Mare Australis were well received at the sales, making prices of up to €42,000 and at a median of €19,000, more than four times his covering fee.
The regally bred Internaute, a stakes-winning son of two Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe winners in Sea The Stars and Solemia, will stand for a debut price of €3,200.
The roster is completed by Leon Du Berlais, Headman and Riocorvo, who remain unchanged at €4,000, €3,000 and €2,800 respectively.
