Harry Redknapp enjoyed successful spells as manager of West Ham, Portsmouth and Tottenham and bookmakers believe his winning mentality could see him crowned the latest King of the Jungle.

Redknapp’s spectacular sporting stories and his carefree approach have quickly made him a firm favourite in the camp and the layers agree with bet365 cutting him to 2-1 from a 5-1 chance before Thursday evening's show.

The 71-year-old, who has been out of management since being sacked at Birmingham in September 2017, is proving extremely likeable and is gaining a bigger public following by the episode. He has hardened into a general 15-8 favourite, with Hills as short as 13-8 for glory.

John Barrowman has eased in the market as a result and is now second at 9-2 with Sky Bet having previously been a well-backed 9-4 chance.

Noel Edmonds’ dramatic arrival didn’t go down as well as bookies anticipated and he can be supported at 16-1 despite opening up at 10s.

Actress Emily Attack and DIY SOS hero Nick Knowles, both available at 6-1, are fairly strong in the market and at this early stage could be considered Redknapp’s chief dangers.

This year's soap representatives are struggling to make their mark with the trio, Coronation Street's Sair Khan, Hollyoaks' Malique Thompson-Dwyer and former Eastender Rita Simons, dominating the next elimination betting.

Khan is 7-4 favourite with bet365 to be the first evicted, while Thompson-Dwyer is 7-2 and Simons 9-2 with the same firm.
