Halloween spooktacular demands much more than dancing

So, it's not just politicians who are Teflon coated. After Seann Walsh and Katya Jones survived last week's dance-off in controversial circumstances, predicting who will be out next from this talented bunch becomes even more tricky.

It's Halloween, so every couple will be pulling out all the stops – but some are more blessed than others in the dance draw. A rumba doesn't lend itself to a quirky theme, and Kate Silverton has drawn the short straw, but she has improved at such a rapid rate that it may not be much of a handicap.

At the opposite end of the scale a paso doble is ripe for theatrical interpretation, but Paralympics ace Lauren Steadman hasn't always looked comfortable with the acting elements of dance, so whether she can channel the drama of this complex dance remains to be seen.

Charles Venn was transformed last week in a Strictly first, performing a street and commercial routine. This week's jive to Time Warp has all the ingredients to be spectacular, but it will need to be, given his two appearances in the dance-off suggest he doesn't have the biggest band of supporters, and a high score is vital.

Recommendation
Lauren Steadman to be eliminated
