South Africa have not won on their last seven trips to Australia, a run that stretches back to 2013, but they have a great chance to cash in against an unsettled Wallabies side on Saturday.

Having lost their home summer series to England, Australia looked to steady the ship with an opening win in the Rugby Championship in Argentina.

But the following week they were stunned 48-17 by Los Pumas and confidence could be low when they run out at the Adelaide Oval to take on the world champions.

Skipper Michael Hooper is still missing for Australia and fly-half Noah Lolesio is recalled having been overlooked for first Quade Cooper and then James O'Connor following the England series.

There is some good news with the return of centre Hunter Paisami, but without the injured Samu Kerevi the hosts look to lack the physicality to stand up to South Africa.

The Springboks were beaten by New Zealand last week but that result is likely to focus their minds and ensure an emphasis on efficiency above ambition as they look to get back on track.

Just two of the last ten meetings between these nations have been settled by a margin of more than 12 points - and that includes two draws - and a narrow Bok victory looks the best bet.
