Wildcats can sink claws into Saints

Wakefield have won just three of their last 19 Super League showdowns with St Helens but 2016 has seen a different breed of Wildcat and they can trouble the Saints at Belle Vue this afternoon.

The Wildcats were downed 44-4 in both previous meetings with the Red Vee and they haven’t beaten Saints since 2012. A miserable record is completed by the fact they have scored just 30 points in their last four St Helens tussles.

On the plus side, this is arguably the best Wakey side in the Super League era and they find themselves in the lofty position of sixth with victory today drawing them level on points with their visitors.
