Match preview

Wigan Warriors' fast start to the Betfred Super League season came to a shuddering halt last week but they should get back on track against a tame Castleford Tigers side.

The Warriors were thumped 28-0 at Catalans Dragons last Saturday but had won their opening four fixtures prior to that.

It was the first real test for Wigan under the stewardship of rookie coach Matt Peet and it was alarming how easily the Dragons took them apart.

However, things should be more straightforward against a Cas side who are conceding an average of 29.6 points per game and have won just one of their five opening matches.

The Tigers will look to tighten up down the middle but that could force Wigan out wide where winger Liam Marshall may get good opportunities to add to his three tries this season.

Marshall is a deadly finisher with 63 tries in 80 career appearances for the Cherry & Whites, and he can help his side cover a 12-point handicap at the DW Stadium.
