Match preview

It's top versus bottom in the Betfred Super League on Sunday as champions and league leaders St Helens head to a Wakefield side in the midst of a crisis.

Four defeats in a row and ten in their last 12 has seen Wakey slump to the foot of the table and Toulouse's recent resurgence has served only to increase relegation fears in West Yorkshire.

So a visit from the Saints, who have won the pair's last ten league and cup meetings, is probably the last thing that Trinity want right now and quotes of 5-1 about the hosts paint a stark image of the task they face.

St Helens are ticking along nicely in their pursuit of an unprecedented fourth Grand Final win in succession. They can move six points clear of second-placed Wigan at the top with victory after the Warriors had an off-day at Leeds on Thursday.

The champions are asked to give up 14 points on the handicap but given that they have won their last seven meetings with Wakey by an average of 23.4 points, that shouldn't be much of a concern.
