Match preview

Leeds Rhinos are no strangers to a late playoff charge and Rohan Smith's men appear to have timed another run to perfection.

The Rhinos were in disarray before Smith took the reins but Wednesday's last-gasp win over Huddersfield was their sixth in a row and eighth in nine outings.

Catalans, last season's beaten Grand Finalists, are fourth in the table heading into Monday's penultimate round of regular-season fixtures, but they have been inconsistent of late.

The Dragons beat rivals Toulouse on Thursday to confirm their place in the playoffs, but Steve McNamara's side had lost five of their previous eight games.

One of those defeats was a dramatic golden-point loss at home to Leeds at the end of July, when the Rhinos fought back from 30-6 down with 12 men in Perpignan. Back the in-form visitors to complete another successful raid in the south of France.

Monday's earlier televised clash sees Castleford take on top-six rivals Salford at the Jungle.

Castleford kept their playoff hopes alive with a 19-18 victory over Warrington on Thursday, while Salford recorded an eighth win in ten games as they battled past Hull FC.

Salford's 28-18 success was helped by the Black & Whites' dismal injury record, but winning is everything at this stage of the season and, just like Leeds, Salford are full of confidence.

There should be plenty of fireworks at The Jungle but the Red Devils should just have enough to take the all-important two points in the race for the top six.

Elsewhere, Huddersfield host Warrington and Hull KR take on Wigan, while St Helens will win the League Leaders' Shield if they beat Wakefield.
