Match preview

A first Grand Final victory still seems fanciful for a Warrington Wolves side who have failed to live up to expectations, but a confidence-boosting win over Catalans last week was at least a step in the right direction.

Daryl Powell's Wolves head to his former employers Castleford Tigers on Saturday as they seek a third win in four which would put them on the coat-tails of the top six.

Cas's three-game winning streak was halted by rivals Leeds at the Magic Weekend but they have lost only twice at home this season and could hit back with some key players returning.

Captain and reigning Man of Steel Paul McShane is available after suspension while Gareth O'Brien's return is particularly welcome news to Tigers coach Lee Radford, who was forced to field winger Greg Eden at stand-off against Leeds last week.

Warrington won last season's corresponding fixture 40-24 but Cas had won the pair's three previous meetings at The Jungle and it could be too soon to be sure that the visitors have turned the corner.

Temperatures are set to soar to 40 degrees in Saturday's late contest between Toulouse and Leeds and the action could be just as hot in the south of France.

A Magic Weekend win over relegation rivals Wakefield has given a resurgent Toulouse renewed belief in their quest for survival with Olympique only two points adrift of Trinity.

Leeds had their own relegation fears prior to the pair's meeting at Headingley in April but the Rhinos are heading in the right direction under new boss Rohan Smith.

Smith has got the Rhinos playing again and their attacking brand has seen them rack up 164 points in their last five matches.

Toulouse also like to play on the front foot so points could be in plentiful supply in the energy-sapping heat.
