History will be made in the Betfred Super League on Saturday as the action takes to our screens in the summer era on a free-to-view channel for the first time while Toulouse become only the fourth side from outside the UK to enter the competition.

Channel Four have signed up to show ten matches this season and they have picked a beauty for their first offering.

Leeds Rhinos v Warrington Wolves pits the second-most successful side in Super League with the side who have come so close to glory on many occasions but failed to get over the line.

Eight-time champions Leeds have been knocked off their perch by St Helens and have spent big in the off-season to try to nick back the crown they so cherish.

The Wolves are no strangers to splashing the cash either but they have so far failed to land the league title, and to add even more spice to the occasion, Warrington will pitch up with former Rhinos head coach Daryl Powell in the dugout following his switch from Castleford Tigers at the end of last season.

The Wolves' 2021 campaign ended with a whimper as they were hammered by upstarts Hull KR 19-0 in the playoffs and Powell has been brought in to finally get Wire over the line at Old Trafford.

Powell led Leeds to 34 victories in 59 games as boss at Headingley and he is 13-10 to get off to the perfect start against his former club.

That looks a decent bet as games between these two are often tight and this could swing either way.

The last two meetings have been settled by winning margins of just one and six with the corresponding fixture falling Warrington's way courtesy of a George Williams drop goal.

The Rhinos won just six of their 12 home games in the regular season in 2021 and they failed to beat any of the sides who finished above them at Headingley.

New half-back Blake Austin will be missing from this reunion with his former club and the Rhinos may find it hard to break down a Wolves side who will be well organised by Powell.

Warrington were the second-highest scorers with 588 points in the regular season and with a more settled side they look decent value to come out on top in west Yorkshire while Huddersfield Giants can spoil the Toulouse welcome party across the Channel.

The Giants had a disappointing 2021 and will be desperate to improve on nine wins from 24 matches.

Toulouse won all 14 fixtures in the Championship, all away from home due to Covid rules, but are favourites to go straight back down and their season looks set to get off to a bad start.

That's already been the case as star man and former skipper Johnathan Ford left the club on the eve of the season and doubts still remain over Mark Kheirallah’s future too.

A partisan crowd will cheer on Olympique but there looks to be too much quality in the Giants' ranks.

Tui Lolohea and Theo Fages have been brought in by head coach Ian Watson to add some sparkle, while Will Pryce looks a star in the making.

Chris Hill brings experience to a beefy pack who could prove too strong if they get on a roll.

Huddersfield won three of their final four matches in 2021 and an eight-point line on the match handicap looks well within reach.
