Salford Red Devils v Hull FC

Where to watch

Sky Sports Arena, 12.15pm Saturday

Best bet

Hull -10
2pts 5-6 bet365, Sporting Index

Match preview

Hull FC towered over Huddersfield Giants in round one of the Betfred Super League last week and they can avoid trouble against the Salford Red Devils at the Totally Wicked Stadium in St Helens.

Hull were rarely bothered by Huddersfield in a 22-10 victory that was more comfortable then the scoreline suggests.

The Giants posted their ten points in the last 11 minutes as Hull eased up with the game won and fatigue setting in.

The Black & Whites have high hopes this season and can make it two from two with victory over Salford.

The Red Devils found it hard to break down St Helens in a 29-6 defeat last week and they may have the same issues against a well-drilled Hull defensive line.

FC may not have it all their own way as Salford have won the last three meetings and possess some quality players, but a ten-point line should be within reach for a side who have looked clinical in attack.

Huddersfield Giants v Catalans Dragons

Where to watch

Sky Sports Arena & Main Event, 2.30pm Saturday

Best bet

Second half to be higher-scoring
3pts 3-4 bet365

Match preview

Huddersfield struggled to breach Hull FC's defence last week but they may have more joy against a Catalans side who shipped five tries in a 29-28 golden-point win over Hull KR.

Both sides possess plenty of attacking talent but at such an early stage of the season players are yet to reach peak fitness and it could turn into a shootout as the game wears on and legs get tired.

The second half was the higher-scoring period in both Huddersfield and Catalans' opening fixtures and a similar outcome may unfold.

The teams' last six meetings have featured points totals of 44, 66, 60, 37, 34 and 51 and another lively clash is envisaged.
