Wakefield Trinity v Toulouse Olympique

Where to watch

Sky Sports Arena & Mix, 2.30pm Saturday

Match preview

The 2022 Betfred Super League Magic Weekend kicks off with a bottom-of-the-table clash between the two worst defences in Super League and it could be a free-for-all at St James’ Park.

Basement boys Toulouse have shown slightly better form recently, turning over Hull KR last Saturday, but Olympique are hard to trust outside of France.

Wakefield, meanwhile, can’t be trusted anywhere they go at the moment so the best bet maybe to bank on plenty of points being scored.

Trinity have the worst defence in Super League this season, conceding 486 points in 17 matches, while Toulouse have not fared much better having shipped 455.

Anything could happen in Saturday’s opening bout but it should be entertaining.

St Helens v Wigan Warriors

Where to watch

Sky Sports Mix, Saturday 4.45pm

Match preview

It’s first against second in day one's feature contest as Super League’s most potent attack, Wigan, take on its tightest defence, champions St Helens.

These arch rivals are bang in form and bookmakers make Saints odds-on favourites, but it really could swing either way.

Wigan had the edge when these two last met, winning 20-18 in May’s Betfred Challenge Cup semi-final, and they look the value bet in this mouth-watering encounter.

Wigan are scoring at a rate of 28.2 points per game, while Saints are conceding just over 11 per fixture so everything is set for another ding-dong battle, which the Warriors are just fancied to find edge.

Leeds Rhinos v Castleford Tigers

Where to watch

Sky Sports Main Event & Arena, 7pm Saturday

Match preview

These Yorkshire rivals enjoyed big wins last week but Saturday's final match could be tight.

Castleford saw off highflying Huddersfield Giants while Leeds hammered Hull FC in an 11-try blitz of the Black & Whites.

The Tigers have won three on the bounce and four of their last five meetings with the Rhinos, including a 16-14 victory the last time they met in round nine.

Cas look the more settled side at the moment with Leeds still a work in progress under new coach Rohan Smith.

Back the Tigers to nick it in the final game of the opening day.
