Two players who featured prominently in the NRL this season could continue their good form into this Autumn's World Cup.

First up is England starlet Dominic Young, who bagged 14 tries in 20 appearances for Newcastle Knights and who opened his account for the national side in last week's 50-0 win over Fiji.

Young, at the age of 21, looks to have the rugby league world at his feet and the 6ft 7in powerhouse could move himself into superstar status over the coming weeks.

The Knights winger also set up two tries during the AJ Bell Stadium stroll and looked unstoppable at times with the ball in hand.

He may struggle to cut loose against Samoa in England's tricky opener but he should get plenty of opportunities against France and Greece.

Young looks one to watch and so too does Alex Johnston, who finished top of the tryscoring charts in the NRL with 30 tries from 22 matches.

Aussie flyer Johnston will be galloping along the wing for Papua New Guinea at the World Cup and should get opportunities to score plenty against Wales and the Cook Islands.

Tonga will fancy their chances of snuffing him out but Johnston knows the way to the try line having top scored in the NRL in 2020 too, and PNG could extend their stay at the tournament by reaching the last eight.

Johnston is sure to play a big part if they do and he looks the best bet to top score for his side along the way.
