Match previews

Things haven't gone according to plan at the start of the Betfred Super League season for Hull KR or Castleford Tigers, and both clubs will be desperate to get off the mark at Craven Park on Friday.

Neither have registered a win from their opening two fixtures but the home side may be the more optimistic having beaten the Tigers twice last season.

However, the Robins look to have regressed from the swashbuckling outfit who went deep in the playoffs last season and they have scored just 22 points in defeats to Huddersfield and Wigan.

Cas have found points even harder to come, by scoring six fewer than Rovers while conceding ten more.

Their cause won't be helped by the absence of Jake Mamo and Kenny Edwards, while Hull KR must do without star signing Lachlan Coote.

It's hard to trust either side to take the points but these are often high-scoring encounters and going over the points may be the best bet when markets become available.

For now, though, the value plays may be backing some in-form tryscorers to continue their scoring runs.

For Rovers, half-back Mikey Lewis has two in two and looks a constant threat, while Derrell Olpherts has found the tryline with ease, bagging three tries in his opening two games for Castleford.

The tryscorer market may also be the best place to look for a bet in St Helens' clash with Wakefield on Friday.

The champions have burst out of the traps with two wins from two and should have little trouble seeing off Trinity at around 1-16.

Saints have scored 66 points in wins over Catalans and Hull FC and look simply unstoppable.

Josh Simm bagged two tries in the win over Hull FC while bulldozing prop Alex Walmsley smashed through Hull and Catalans with ease.

Back both to get over the whitewash against Wakey.
