Match previews

Leeds Rhinos look to have timed their charge to perfection and they can continue their Betfred Super League playoff push with victory at Hull KR on Friday.

The Rhinos occupy the sixth and final berth to prolong their 2022 campaign having seen off top-six rivals Salford last week.

Now they take on a Rovers side who also harbour ambitions of an extended season.

Leeds's push has seen them win five of their last six matches and they are firm favourites to win at Craven Park which looks justifiable given they have scored on average 36 points per game across their last six fixtures.

It's been some turnaround by the Rhinos, who won just one of their opening nine league matches, and they arrive in East Yorkshire following impressive recent wins over Salford, Catalans, Wigan and Castleford.

Hull KR, currently under the interim care of Leeds legend Danny McGuire, are never easy to take on at home and the Robins are in decent nick themselves having won three of their last four.

However, they remain too inconsistent and Leeds's recent form suggests siding the away side. backing the Rhinos to win by no more than 12 points, as they did when these two met at Headingley in April, looks the best bet.

Catalans are also never easy to back against but injuries are starting to pile up for the Dragons who may be vulnerable at the Jungle on Friday night, but it may be a case of survival of the fittest in west Yorkshire.

Steve McNamara is without ten of his first-team regulars and they face a Tigers side who are firmly in the mix for a playoff berth.

However, Cas coach Lee Radford also has injuries concerns following a chaotic final training session that saw him lose four players.

Radford wouldn't divulge who they were but it makes things a tad trickier for the Tigers to get back on track.

Cas have lost their last two but won in golden-point extra-time when they hosted the Dragons in round 16 and another close contest can be expected.

The Tigers are averaging almost 22 points per game this season and anything around or above that mark may be enough to take home the two competition points on this occasion, so backing the home side to win by one to 12 points looks the way to go.
