Friday's match previews

There's a feast of Betfred Super League action to tuck into on Friday with Hull FC's tussle with Wakefield Trinity given star billing as the TV fixture.

It's perhaps not the most exciting contest of the evening but there may be a touch of value to be had from a punting perspective.

Neither side have much left to play for with Hull's annual end-of-season implosion in full swing.

The Black & Whites have dropped out of the playoff picture following a run of just two wins from their last ten matches and they have seen their top-six rivals head off into the distance.

Wakey, meanwhile, have hit some form recently to virtually assure themselves of another season in Super League having looked like in the thick of a relegation relegation battle only a few weeks ago.

Trinity are four points clear of Toulouse at the bottom and look a decent-value bet to take another leap towards survival at the MKM Stadium.

Hull have been shipping points at an alarming rate of 33 points per match since they last met Wakefield in June and memories of that match are likely to still haunt FC, who threw away a 14-4 half-time lead to lose 19-18 at Belle Vue.

The Airlie Birds have never really recovered from that collapse while injuries and poor discipline has seen them slide out of contention as the regular season draws to a close.

Star man Jake Connor is suspended and joins a host of key men on the sidelines for the hosts so Wakefield look the bet to land a crucial two points.

Across Yorkshire, Leeds can enhance their Grand Final claims with a victory over Warrington at Headingley.

The Rhinos have timed their charge nicely and have won six and drawn one of their last seven matches on home soil. They are firmly in the playoff mix and should see off a Wolves side who they thumped 40-4 in round 14.

Warrington escaped the relegation dogfight with a win over Toulouse last week and could make things interesting with the pressure off, but Leeds should still be able to cover an eight-point handicap.

Wigan can also enjoy a comfortable victory when they take on Toulouse, but there is little value to be found in the match markets.

Instead a wager on Warriors' full-back Jai Field to score the first try is advised at the DW Stadium.

Field started the season in blistering form and has bagged 19 tries in 2022, but the Aussie been overshadowed recently by the form of his teammate Bevan French.

Field is 15-2 to dot down first and that looks a decent price.

St Helens are long odds-on to get the better of Hull KR on Friday and a routine home win looks likely as the champions close in on the League Leaders' Shield.
