Match previews

Catalans Dragons have already lost to one of their Betfred Super League title rivals this season and they may fall short against another when they head to Warrington Wolves on Friday.

The Dragons were thumped 28-8 by St Helens on the opening night and their stuttering start looks set to continue after they scraped to narrow wins over Leeds and Wakefield in their other two fixtures.

The French raiders, runners-up in last season's Grand Final, have a miserable record at the Halliwell Jones Stadium, where they have lost five and drawn one of their last six encounters.

Wire have come out on top in the last three contests during which the Dragons have posted totals of just six, eight and 16 points.

Warrington have started the season well, winning all three matches while finding points relatively easy to come by.

They are asked to cover a six-point handicap and that line looks well within reach for a side who have scored 22, 34 and 32 points in the opening three rounds, bagging 16 tries.

Catalans have crossed the whitewash just seven times, only once more than Wolves' winger Josh Charnley, who has bagged six tries this season, and he looks a decent bet to open the scoring, while St Helens should have no problem crossing the try-line at Craven Park.

The champions have blasted out of the traps in the early rounds, winning all three matches with the minimum of fuss.

Saints have plundered 86 points in wins over Catalans, Hull FC and Wakefield while conceding just 18.

It could be a long night for the Robins who have lost each of their last five fixtures with the Saints in east Hull, while a stomach bug has been rife in the Red & White camp.

St Helens posted points totals of 25, 32, 42, 30 and 31 during that sequence and a 14-point handicap should be easily taken care of by the rampant champions.
