Salford and Wakefield and have endured miserable recent runs of form in the Betfred Super League and are in danger of falling away from the playoff picture.

Both sides have lost three on the bounce to leave their top-five hopes in jeopardy and this clash is almost a must-win encounter.

Bookmakers expect a home win with Salford going off around the 4-9 mark and the nature of the sides' recent defeats show why.

The Red Devils have been slightly unlucky in defeats to Hull, Hull KR and St Helens where they fell to three, two and two-point losses.

Wakey, though, have been less convincing, going down by ten, eight and eight in defeats to Leeds, Catalans and London.

Everything points to a home win and that looks the way to go courtesy of the Salford-Salford double result and the Red Devils covering a six-point spread on the match handicap.

Trinity won 33-22 when these two met in March but the corresponding fixture last season finished 38-4 in Salford's favour.
