Course-loving Scot can ping the lids in Reno
Follow Martin Laird in round one
From 3pm Thursday
Powerhouse Martin Laird always seems to produce the goods at Montreux Country Club, no matter what his form on arrival at the venue, and the Scot appeals as a first-round threeball wager in the Barracuda Championship.
Laird, who lives in Arizona, is comfortable in the Nevada desert and his four previous appearances in Reno for this tournament have yielded finishes of fourth, second, sixth and seventh.
Given those superb course credentials, it is a surprise to find Laird is not even clear favourite for his threeball against Mackenzie Hughes and William McGirt.
The 13-8 available about Laird looks generous, even though he has been struggling over the last few weeks at far less happier hunting grounds.
Recommendation
M Laird to win threeball
