All-Ireland final

One All-Ireland title is not enough for this Tipperary team. They have been underachieving since their 2010 triumph but that should change today as they look to have too much firepower for defending champions Kilkenny.

On a strict line through Waterford, Tipperary should be strong favourites. They destroyed the Deise in the second half of the Munster final whereas the Cats needed a second bite of the cherry to get the better of them. In short, Tipperary’s starting 15 is more talented than the 15 who take to the field for Kilkenny but that does not always guarantee success.

Tipperary will need to stick to their gameplan and the key component of that is their ability to create goal chances. They have scored ten goals in their four summer showdowns, despite failing to find the net against Cork, and they will fancy their chances of opening up a Kilkenny defence that looked very fragile at times against Waterford, particularly in the early stages of the replay.
