Sunday GAA: football betting preview, match tips & start times
Cavan v Roscommon | Galway v Kerry | Kildare v Clare
Cavan v Roscommon
Breffni Park, 2.30pm Sunday
Roscommon and Cavan know each other very well having clashed twice in Division 2 last year, including in the decider at Croke Park, and they have been favourites for the drop from the start of the campaign.
Roscommon have made most progress in the first three rounds, earning three points out of a possible six, and losing out only by a single point to Mayo in the opening round, but they must be kicking themselves after letting a six-point half-time lead slip against Tyrone a fortnight ago. Had they held on there it would have been a huge victory for Anthony Cunningham.
Perhaps Roscommon have improved leaps and bounds this spring, but had this game been priced up before a ball was kicked in this year's Division 1 campaign Cavan would have been slight favourites so it is hard to let them go at their current odds.
They can be backed at 8-5 to win by two points or more and that is too big to turn down.
The Breffni boys are pointless after their opening three games but that doesn't tell the whole story.
Cavan have been competitive in all three outings. They were edged out by two points away to Galway, led Kerry for long periods in round two only for the Kingdom to dig deep for a three-point success and, in round three, they exploded from the traps and found themselves four points in front midway through the first half away to Mayo.
Class prevailed in the end and Mayo won by five points but Cavan never gave in and didn't look out of their depth.
Cavan and Roscommon are probably on a par at the moment and home advantage can swing the balance in the favour of Mickey Graham's boys.
Paddy Power have set the total Cavan points spread at 13.5 and that looks too low.
This is a game Cavan can win - and whatever the oucome, they can register at least 14 points against a Roscommon defence which hasn't always convinced.

Cavan -1

Galway v Kerry
Pearse Stadium, 2.30pm Sunday
Despite missing a whole host of their first team, including Damien Comer and the Corofin contingent, Galway have somehow managed to gather four points from a possible six.
That is a fine achievement by Kevin Walsh and he deserves all the credit for their latest hard-fought success in Inniskeen where they got the better of a full-strength Monaghan side.
They are back at home for the visit of Kerry and, while the visitors are warm favourites, it has got to the stage where you ignore Galway at your peril whoever they are missing.
The one bet which appeals on the match coupon is for Kerry to keep a clean sheet at a shade of odds-against.
Despite sitting third in the table, Galway are the second-lowest scorers in Division 1 having accumulated only 0-32 in their three outings .
They now face a Kerry defence which kept clean sheets in their wins over Tyrone and Cavan and it is hard to envisage a Galway side missing so many marquee players finding the net.
Recommendation
No Galway goal

Kildare v Clare
Newbridge, 2pm
Clare seem to be constantly under-rated by the layers and they should not be such underdogs heading to Kildare to face Newbridge in round four of Division 2.
The way in which they dismantled Cork was very easy on the eye and don't forget Kildare go into the tie following a dreadful display in Fermanagh where they managed to score only six points.
Having given as good as they got against Donegal, drawn with Armagh and beaten Cork, Clare go into the game with better form than Kildare and should be supported at 7-2 to win by two points or more.
Recommendation
Clare -1
2pts 7-2 BoyleSports, Paddy Power
