Offaly v Wexford
Tullamore, 7pm Saturday

Wexford opened their Leinster campaign with a win over Dublin, but that encounter was a lot tighter than many expected, and Davy Fitzgerald's side should improve as the championship wears on.

Rory O’Connor was the hero for Wexford, hitting 12 points including two in the closing stages to secure victory over a Dublin side who went close yet again.

Offaly fell to their second defeat in as many weeks but they put up a good fight, and were within three points of Kilkenny in the last ten minutes, before losing by nine.

Kevin Martin’s side will take heart from that performance but time is running out as they look to avoid relegation to the Joe McDonagh in 2019. Their season still revolves around their clash with Dublin in round four.

This looks like a straightforward task for Davy Fitzgerald’s side and should be ideal preparation for the visit of Galway to Wexford Park next week. They should easily cover the handicap with their sights set on the All Ireland champions.

Recommendation
Wexford -7
2pts 11-10 general
