Wexford v Galway

4.30pm Saturday, Sky Sports Arena

Expect a major response from Galway after their 2-15 to 0-15 defeat against Wexford in round three of the Allianz League.

The Tribesmen went into that assignment after a strong display when beating Limerick by six points, but they were brought back down to earth quickly against an in-form side.

Henry Shefflin couldn't hide his disappointment after that home defeat and this will be a chance for his side to put that right.

Throw in the fact that Galway never showed up until very late in the day when they were dumped out of the 2021 Leinster Championship in a shock defeat against Dublin, and the 2017 All-Ireland champions will not be lacking motivation.

Wexford won all five of their group games in the league but had no answer to Waterford's quality in the semi-final. They will need to be at their very best if Galway are firing on all cylinders.

Waterford v Tipperary

2pm Sunday, RTE2

Tipperary could up their game significantly from what we saw in the league, but Waterford simply look the better side in terms of overall quality and have strong form behind them.

The Deise earned their first senior championship win over Tipperary in 13 years in an enthralling All-Ireland quarter-final last July, a game that saw Waterford raise four green flags.

They welcome the Premier County, who are without some key figures from last season, to Walsh Park on the back of scoring a whopping 22 goals in seven league fixtures.

They can go a long way to ensuring goals and points are scored.

Dessie Hutchinson has been in tremendous form for the home side and looks a solid play at 5-4 to bag a goal, having rattled the twine in both the league final and semi-final.

Cork v Limerick

4pm Sunday, RTE2

This repeat of last year's All-Ireland final promises to be a cracking encounter as both sides face off at Pairc Ui Chaoimh with a point to prove.

Cork were blown away by 16 points in the 2021 decider, while Limerick won only one of their five league games.

There is only one time of year that matters to the Treaty County, though, and that is championship season. They left their league form behind last year when going unbeaten in this competition - they could roar back to life on Sunday.

We can expect a much different Limerick performance than when beaten by nine points against the Rebels in round three of the league.

It might be a bit much to expect a 13-point turnaround from that display, though, and that's what is required for Limerick to cover a three-point handicap.

Both sides possess top-notch attacking talent and the best approach could be to back over 52.5 points.

Limerick averaged 33 points per game in last year's championship, while Cork's average tally (excluding extra-time) was 27 points.

Aaron Gillane bagged 1-6 in last year's All-Ireland final against the Rebels and could be worth taking a chance on at 9-1 for RTE man-of-the-match honours.
