Laois v Westmeath - Division 3 Final
Croke Park, Saturday, 4.45pm, TG4

Westmeath have already added some silverware to their trophy cabinet in 2019, having won the O'Byrne Cup earlier in the year, and they are fancied to repeat the feat in the Division 3 league final at the expense of Laois.

When these sides met earlier in the campaign, at Mullingar in round four, Westmeath ran out 0-13 to 0-10 winners and a similar sort of scoreline could be in store six weeks on.

Jack Cooney's charges dropped three of the first six points available in Division 3 and it was relegation rather than promotion which looked on the cards.

They have turned their season around by beating Sligo by eight and Longford by four and did what they had to do last week against Louth, securing a share of the spoils which was sufficient to secure a place in the decider.

That game would have brought star player, John Heslin, on in leaps and bounds and, with Kieran Martin and Ger Egan in top form, Westmeath look to have better forwards than Laois.

Luke Loughlin, who scored four points in the win over Louth, has also been a useful addition to the attack and Westmeath look value at a shade of odds-against.

There were no goals and few goal chances when the sides met earlier in the year and odds of 13-2 about that happening again appeal.
