Unai Emery looks set to become Arsenal's new manager with multiple reports suggesting he will replace Arsene Wenger at the Emirates.

The next Arsenal manager market is now suspended, having earlier been shaken up after a surge of support for the former PSG and Sevilla coach.

Emery's odds were slashed having been 12-1 on Sunday but he was still odds-against when news broke of the imminent appointment.

Previous favourite Mikel Arteta, Pep Guardiola’s assistant at Manchester City, had been trading at odds-on for the Arsenal job for almost a week and was as short as 1-8 on Monday morning.

Last week some bookmakers suspended betting on Arteta becoming Arsenal boss but the Gunners seem to be heading down the route of the more experienced Emery.

The Spaniard steered PSG to a domestic treble this season but a
last-16 defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League prompted the French giants to replace him with Thomas Tuchel for next season.

Emery's first term in Paris was seen as a disaster after they missed out on the title to Monaco while also blowing a 4-0 first-leg lead against Barcelona in the Champions League, losing the return 6-1 at Camp Nou.

The 46-year-old started his career at Lorca and has also managed Almeria, Valencia, Spartak Moscow and Sevilla before heading to France.

Arsenal are sixth favourites at 25-1 to win the Premier League next season and 11-4 for a top-four finish.
