Serbia consider shaking up squad

Serbia won the fewest matches of any European nation who topped their qualifying group and much-travelled boss Slavoljub Muslin paid the price with the sack after the much-criticised coach said: "We don't think alike on how the team should look for the World Cup."

Reportedly central to that difference was Muslin's use - or rather non-use - of several of the youngsters who are desperate for a chance having won the Under-20 World Cup in 2015.

Getting a grip on how Serbia may line up in the summer is not easy given their state of flux.

The older guard such as Branislav Ivanovic, Dusan Tadic, Nemanja Matic and Aleksandar Kolarov are unlikely to be discarded, but expect Andrija Zivkovic, Mijat Gacinovic and Lazio's supremely gifted Sergej Milinkovic-Savic to be given more chances to stake claims for a first-team places.
