Sensational David Silva is a good back-up plan

Man City's domination likely to be reflected in individual awards

Manchester City's domination of the Premier League should be reflected in the individual awards at the end of the season with Kevin De Bruyne the favourite to walk away with the PFA Player of the Year honour.

Racing Post followers are already on the brilliant Belgian at 25-1 ante-post, although it is still early days in the campaign so another dart is advised even for those not on in the first place.

It would, for instance, be difficult for De Bruyne to scoop the award if he were to suffer a major injury early in the new year and every game will be a nervous 90 minutes for any punters prepared to back the midfielder at a short price.

Imagine if Dele Alli's poor tackle on Saturday had done lasting damage - that's how easy it will be for the De Bruyne vouchers to be consigned to the bin.

City's David Silva has been no less eye-catching over the last couple of months and if the silky-skilled Spaniard can maintain those standards he could run De Bruyne close.

Silva has been the man with the golden touch in front of goal, adding a finishing touch to his superb all-round game, and it should be a City one-two with Mo Salah the only realistic challenger.

The top of the Young Player of the Year market is also full of City players with Raheem Sterling, Leroy Sane and Gabriel Jesus set to fight it out.

This award usually goes to an Englishman - 11 of the last 15 were English - and that's not the only reason to back Sterling. He has been sensational under Pep Guardiola, who has clearly spent painstaking time with Sterling on the training ground.
