Dallas ensured they stayed on Philadelphia's tail in the NFC East with a valuable victory over Washington last week and they should give an indication of whether they are capable of making a Super Bowl push this season when Kansas City head to Texas.

The Cowboys are two wins behind the Eagles but their hopes of winning the division will remain high as they still have to play the leaders home and away.

The Chiefs steadied the ship with a victory over Denver last week following defeats to Pittsburgh and Oakland and have been the punters' friends in covering the handicap in six of their eight matches.

Power rankings

Only Houston and the LA Rams headed into Week Nine with a higher number of average points per game than the Chiefs' 29.5 and that goes a long way to explaining why the points line is a hefty 53.5.

However, all eyes will remain on Dallas running back Ezekiel Elliott, who looks set to play while the legal row concerning his potential six-match suspension rumbles on.

He showed no signs of allowing the situation to affect his play against Washington when he scored two touchdowns and chalked up 150 rushing yards.

Elliott looks likely to be used extensively while he is still at coach Jason Garrett's disposal and 3-1 for him to score at least two touchdowns against the Chiefs looks enticing.
